About this course

Use AI inside the analyst’s own tools — Copilot in Excel and Power BI, AI-assisted SQL and Python — to work faster without losing control of the numbers. Every session pairs a speed-up with the check that catches what the AI got wrong: a join that drops rows, a test that doesn’t fit the data, a chart that misleads.

Who this is for

  • Working analysts and MIS staff
  • Graduates of our SQL, Python or Power BI courses
  • Researchers who analyse data in code
  • Team leads who review analysts’ work

What you’ll be able to do

  • Draft SQL and Pandas code with AI and verify it against the data
  • Use Copilot in Excel and Power BI for formulas, measures and summaries
  • Clean and reshape messy data faster with AI help
  • Spot the common ways AI analysis goes wrong
  • Use AI to explain results and draft the write-up — accurately
  • Keep confidential data out of public AI tools

Tools you’ll use

  • Copilot in Excel
  • Copilot in Power BI
  • ChatGPT & Claude
  • GitHub Copilot
  • SQL
  • Python & Pandas

Curriculum

The full outline. A downloadable PDF follows once the content is final.

  • Testing AI-written queries: row counts, joins and edge cases
  • What never to paste into a public tool
Week 2AI in Python and Power BI4 topics
  • AI-assisted Pandas: cleaning and reshaping
  • Reading and fixing AI-written code
  • Copilot in Power BI: measures and report pages
  • Checking DAX that “looks right”
Week 3From analysis to answer4 topics
  • Choosing the right test — and catching the wrong one
  • Charts that inform rather than mislead
  • Drafting the write-up with AI, checking every claim
  • Project presentation

Your project

You take a messy business dataset from question to recommendation using AI at every step, and document each check you made on what the AI produced.

Where you’ll use this

  • Faster monthly and ad-hoc analysis
  • Cleaning data from new or messy sources
  • Reviewing AI-assisted work from your team
  • Writing up findings for management

Before you start

Working knowledge of Excel plus SQL or Python. SQL for Data Analysis or Data Analysis Using Python is enough.

Who teaches it

The course is designed and taught by data and AI practitioners — people who build data pipelines, dashboards and AI systems for businesses — so every exercise reflects how the tool is used on real work.

Certificate

You receive a GeXOn Training Center certificate when you complete the course and its project.

Every certificate carries an ID that employers can check at trainingcenter.gexonai.com/verify.

Frequently asked questions

Will AI replace data analysts?

It replaces some of the typing, not the judgement. Analysts who can use AI and catch its mistakes get more done — that’s what this course teaches.

Do I need Copilot licences?

No. We use free tools for most exercises and show the Copilot features for those whose organisation has them.

When will it run?

When enough people have registered interest to fill a batch. Register below and you’ll hear the dates first — it costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
